 Christian School of the Desert had a simple plan - to make buying books easier for the students & their parents. What used to be chaotic and stressful has now become organized and efficient now with the launch of their online bookstore at www.csod.org.
A simple plan developed into a complex custom programming solution with inventory control & administrative capabilities with help from Kate Spates and her team at WebSites 2000. After one face to face meeting with Dave Fulton, the Founder of the school and CEO, Debbee Scott, the Marketing Director and Kristi Young - the plan was set into full motion and 4 weeks later, the ecommerce project was launched.
"We wanted to be able to fill the bookstore orders and place the student's books directly in their lockers or classrooms for their use when they arrive on the first day of school" Debbee Scott said. "It was important to offer new and used books and have each book sold removed from inventory, so we could keep it straight. We also needed an incentive for the parents to buy online so we could make this all happen. So we waived a handling fee for the first week of ordering and we are so pleased with the response." Scott states. "In the first three days, over 100 orders were placed by parents." She adds.
Spates' team at WebSites 2000 has a good reputation for making online business easy. For almost 9 years, they have been creating Web sites for companies worldwide, large & small. They plan to launch their third design for the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic (www.bhcc.com) in a few months and have recently launched a collaborative effort with The Shepherd Group on the newest bank in the desert - Desert Commercial Bank (www.desertbanking.com).
Christian School of the Desert, long known for their excellent educational programs and steadfast Christian faith, was established in 1977 and has 450 students from Pre-school through 12th grade.

WebSites 2000 was started in 1996 with the acquisition of WebOriginals, an Ohio-based company. In 1999 Stacy Thetford joined the team as director of sales and operations, followed by Jan Diaz, director of Web services and Jozelle Zamora, assistant Director of Web Services. WebSites 2000 has grown to manage over 170 Web sites worldwide.
